Barry Manilow called and asked me to do some of the arrangements on an album he was producing for Dionne Warwick. I was delighted because of my continuing relationship with Barry, and because I worked with Dionne for many years in my early New York days.

When we finished the recording session Barry and I listened to it a few times and we both had the same gut feeling about this record. All the right elements were there. Her vocal performance was just great. After that last drum break and key change, it just soared into the clouds. It was a HUGE hit for her.
