Song may take a few moments to load... This was the second of the early sessions I did for Neil Diamond on Bang Records. Recorded and released in 1966 Cherry Cherry was Neils first top ten record. It was produced by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich. We recorded it at Dick Charles studios on Seventh Avenue in New York. It was one of the busier smaller studios in New York in those days. I played piano on the session along with Dick Romoff on acoustic bass and of course Neil on guitar. I do not remember who the drummer was. Brooks Arthur was the engineer. Jeff and Ellie were in the booth. What fun we had. My initial thoughts of Neil becoming a huge star were correct. His career took off like a comet. |
